Almost everyone in this world wants to have a dream house. A house that matches their desired interior and exterior off coarse. Many of us hire designers and some of us commence this job by themselves. You do it yourself or ask somebody to do it for you doesn’t matter. What matters is, doing the job in the right way. Interior designing has some rules, some things to consider while designing a space. Which if neglected would end up in a messy home interior design. The interior design ideas need to be balanced, harmonized, and have a practical implementation. So here we have gathered some things to consider in interior designing.
What is the purpose of the room?
<h4>The first and foremost thing to consider is the purpose of the room. House comprises of rooms that serve different purposes like the kitchen is for cooking where cooking appliances, stove, crockery, etc have to be placed. Living rooms are for the combined sitting while the bedroom is for sleeping with the bed as essential furniture. Before doing the interior of a house put down requirements and things needed for a room.
Adding textures to the room
The decorating thing you should consider in every room is texture. Every room should have at least five textures. Let’s imagine a room that is shiny and glitzy. Everything is pink. Everything is polished or nickel? Everything shiny and in a monotone does not look good in the room. A wide variety of textures should be added to the room. So the more texture added the more depth it gets. The interior design should be balanced with the correct amount of rough, smooth, and shiny surfaces.
Change paint colour, only when needed
Changing paint colour is the foremost thing that comes in mind when deciding to have a home renovation. Well, it’s true the paint transforms a space in any room but it doesn’t mean that it’s going to completely transform the space. It’s one piece of the many layers that need to create a more decorated space. So you should start with the building of the room looking at missing any key pieces of furniture that are going to transform how space is going to be used. Maybe only having a sofa in the room will change the whole look instead of painting. Calculate in your mind ideas that could be used instead of painting. Like having a rug on the floor, unique window treatments, adding plants, etc all this should be done before changing the paint colour. The room should be painted only when there is a need.
Furniture should be in the opposite style
20% of furniture should be in the opposite style. If you get all traditional things it will feel heavy and old. if you get all sorts of retro you will feel like you’re in some kind of a set designed by the set designer. The shape should also be different. If all the furniture is in the same shape it will look boring.
Use varying scale pattens
Always vary the scale of the pattern in the same room. Like if there is a pattern of the tree on your pillow, bedding set, and rug or even on curtains make sure that the pattern is in different sizes in the room. You can use large-scale patterns, small or some that are medium. This type of variation looks way better than having every single pattern in the same room with the same scale. If you did that it would look like nothing goes together. The second thing you should not do is to use scales too close. Like if you have kind of a medium scale and then one is just a little smaller than the medium. It’s going to look like a mistake. Use a scale with a visible difference so that it looks like you did it yourself.
Manage furniture available at home
When something doesn’t quite feel right in space and you just want to change it, you want to go shop. Everybody likes to shop, it’s a fun thing but not a solution to the problem. A lot of times you feel that some pieces are not working in a particular area in your home. This might be because the existing pieces are not at the proper place. Try to change the placement of that piece or change put it at some other place. It might be better suited to another location. Do not immediately go out to the store first to investigate intuitively on what’s not working.
Balance the free space in the room
Saturation creates a suffocating atmosphere in the room. Leave some breathing space. Interior designing is not just about feeling space. It seems professional if free space and occupied space is balance in the interior. Leaving free space has some advantages like it makes the room look larger and spacious, you can add some other decoration in the future and room will give you a sense of peace. Every decoration could be viewed clearly which is impossible when the room is overcrowded. Also, keep in mind not to leave too much space empty.
Conclusion
So here are the few things to consider in interior design. You cannot ignore them as it will ruin the design. Once you will understand these points you will be able to make the right choices.
